Multiple Dog Leash

If you have more than one dog, you might want to use a multiple dog leash when you take them walking. The multiple dog leash is a favorite of both hunters who enjoy these type of leashes because they can bring more than one dog at a time out onto the field without messing with a bunch of different leashes as well as dog walkers who often use a multiple dog leash.

The multiple dog leash has one handle and several different leashes that can be attached to the collars of different dogs. Dogs should be used to walking on a lead when you take them walking using a multiple dog leash, although some people feel this is an excellent way for a puppy to learn as they are more likely to follow the behavior of the other dogs. Taking a bunch of untrained puppies on a multiple dog leash, however, can be very difficult as they may all excitedly try to pursue different directions to explore. You may find yourself yanking on the leash more often that you think when you take many untrained dogs out walking.

Contrary to what many people believe, dogs do not readily take to the leash. A dog has to be taught how to walk on the lead and should walk along with you and not constantly pull on the lead to get away. Once you have properly trained dogs to walk on a lead, however, it can be much easier to use a multiple dog leash to handle several dogs at once. Dogs are pack animals and tend to want to be with the rest of the group. They can, however, get excited if another animal crosses their path. You should never put more dogs on a multiple dog leash than you can physically handle unless they are supremely trained dogs.

If you are a professional dog walker and want to save yourself some confusion as well as make dog walking more convenient, you can use the multiple dog leash. There is a great calling for professional dog walkers as many people do not have the time or the ability to exercise their dogs. In most cases, professional dog walkers work in the city where people generally have the money to pay for this type of convenience. The best part of using the multiple dog leash is that you can handle all of the dogs at once without having to fuss with several different leashes. Again, this concept works well with well trained dogs.

If dogs are not well trained or need a little guidance during the walk, you should use the multiple dog leash as a training tool to get them in synch with the other dogs who are trained and understand how to walk on a lead. The multiple dog leash is favored by dog walkers, hunters and people who have several different dogs that they wish to take out for a walk at one time.
