Hands Free Leash

When your dog learns to walk on a lead, you can use a hands free leash so that you can take him for a walk with more comfort to yourself. The hands free leash can go around your wrist so that you can keep your hands free when you are taking the dog for a walk. It often takes a while before a dog learns to walk on a lead. At first, your dog will pull on the lead so that he appears to be walking you. It is always important for your dog to understand that you are the boss. This is what makes him a desirable companion and also gives the dog a sense of security.

When you use the hands free leash, you can take your dog for a walk and not have to hold onto the leash. This can allow you to put your hands in your pockets if it is cold out or even use a cell phone. Many people use a hands free leash when they are walking a dog and pushing a stroller for a baby at the same time. It makes for more convenience when you are taking the dog out for a walk.

You can find a hands free leash that is retractable. This gives your dog more freedom to run but without you losing control of the animal. You can allow your dog a little bit more room as the leash can then be retracted to bring him close to you if needed.

Another type of a hands free leash is one that is operated by battery power and sends frequencies to the collar of the dog. This will send an electric impulse to your dog as you walk, that you can control with your own transmitter. It takes a while for a dog to be trained on this type of hands free leash, which are often used when taking a dog hunting. It is the same concept of an invisible fence that some people use to keep their dogs in the yard. They have a receiver on their collar that sends them a shock if they step over the bounds. This does not hurt the dog, it merely is uncomfortable and the dog soon learns not to overstep his bounds.

Whether you choose to use a hands free leash that can wrap around your wrist or one that you can use with a transmission device is up to you. Much of this depends on where you are walking your dog and in what type of weather. Many hunters and those that take dogs out in the field will use an electric impulse hands free leash for their dogs, also known as remote collars. Once your dog learns the concept of this type of leash, they will understand the boundaries and behave accordingly. A hands free leash can allow you to walk your dog in comfort.
